Google PageRank Update January 2011

With the expected late December PageRank update not materialising, there are rumours of a certain January change to take place. The last complete confirmed Pagerank update was way back in June 2010, 7 months ago and counting.

It would appear that because of all the fundamental changes that Google has been implementing to the algorithm formatting, they have decided to delay any kind of Page-Rank refresh in the second half of 2010.

The schedule for 2011 (predicted) is as follows:

  • January 2011 PageRank Update
  • April 2011 PageRank Update
  • July 2011 PageRank Update
  • October 2011 PageRank Update
  • December 2011 PageRank Update

====================================

The name for the system of valuing a websites worth (per-page) is named after Larry Page, Google’s co-founder. Currently there are just a handful of websites in the World which have attained a value of 10 for their ranking:

Google Search, the World Wide Web Consortium, the US Government and Adobe are famous examples. Others include The White House and the Social Bookmarking Sharing Button Widget. Surprise holders of the prestigious PR10 status are Europeana, Miibeian, Group of Eight and The National Portal of India.
