As part of the Google+ project, the official statistical page has been launched, showing the top 100 Google +profiles on the home page. This tool works in a similar way to the Twitter Counter, and is run by the same guy; Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten.

The beta version of the new Google+ Statistics is a tool to discover both your own popularity and that of others. It also offers an insight into other stats that will surely increase with time (as we have seen within Webmaster Tools +1 Metrics, it’s too early to have any sort of clear picture until it’s rolled out).

Right now the only real statistics are the male to female user ratio, currently 88% male, 10% female and 2% ‘other’. No doubt the balance will shift, again when the Google+ project goes live.

Just as with Twitter and Facebook statistics, you can click to select ‘Add your account now: Just enter your Google+ profile number into this form and we will start tracking it”. This then adds you to the Google+ Social Statistics data and you can start tracking your performance.
