The Advent of Cheap SEO Services: Good or Bad?

All around the world, people are experiencing the effects of a global recession. Even the largest companies have felt the negative effects of the global economic downturn. It is also no different when online businesses are concerned. Businesses that operate solely online have been forced to cut costs and decrease their marketing expenditures in an effort to maintain stability and weather the economic storm.

All this cost-cutting has ushered in an era of cheap SEO services which can be availed of by just about anyone with a website or webpage. In many ways, the recession has helped in encouraging thousands of enterprises and organizations to make the shift from offline to online, the latter being a far more affordable place to do business in. Aside from being cheap, SEO is incredibly effective, with benefits that can be enjoyed even if you have few resources to spend for it.

Almost all SEO firms currently offer very affordable internet marketing packages to clients, each one coming with its own set of pros and cons. Although one might be inclined believe that these SEO companies are operating at a loss, that’s actually not the case. In fact, many of them are actually making a profit. By outsourcing the bulk of their work to countries with sizable IT hubs such as India, China and the Philippines—all of which offer cheaper labour—these firms can save on their labour expenses without sacrificing the quality of output.

Of course, the trend of cheap SEO services also has its drawbacks. For one, many businesses and site owners have fallen victim to small, fraudulent SEO companies that offer low-quality services. Not only is this a total waste of money, it’s also potentially risky as sites can be banned by search engines for unscrupulous practices.

Remember to choose an SEO company wisely. Check everything from their track record, reputation, previous clients and more.
