The much anticipated launch of Google+ for business has arrived, with Monday’s announcement from Maile Ohye reading: “Grow your audience with Google+”. The business page appears to be in what we would call early stages of development, but offers the basics needed to get your business on Google+ and start spreading the word through the World’s latest social networking platform.
The business badge (see to the right of this page in the widget section) is currently available in 4 formats; small, medium large and no graphic at all (to allow you to claim a Google Places account without adding anything visually to your website).
Limited in functionality at the moment, the Google+ Places pages main benefit lies in claiming a listing in Google Local. By adding a snippet of code you can disclose to the search engine which page is associated with your website, which in turn appears online and makes interaction with clients much easier.
There are plenty of mega-brands already signed up with an active profile, showcasing latest product launches and promoting fresh offers.
