The long-awaited launch of the Google Facebook rival is here, named Google+. Following on from the recent Google +1 launch, the social networking platform is the new mega-network that will grip the World’s public online community.

In a somewhat delayed response to Twitter and Facebook, the Google+ project is the result of years of planning and marketing development. The search giant knows it has one crack at this, and must launch something which offers not just new and innovative features, but desirable branding and excellent ease-of-use.

One problem Google has experienced in the past is having too many separate functions and log-ins. Google+ cures this dilemma by adding everything to the browser, including quick access to every feature

Google Sparks - an accumulated feed of relevant content, compiled courtesy of Google regarding things you like. When you have time simply click to read or watch things you are interested in.

Google Hangouts - Instant communication via text or video, as long as you are logged in you can access the Hangouts feature. ‘Huddle’ offers group chats, ‘Instant Upload’ means new photo’s of you and friends are automatically added to your profile.

Google Circles - All about sharing content with groups of people; colleagues, friends, family. Circles allows you to group people so you only share content with those who need to see it.

Right now the Google+ project is limited to invited parties only, but keep posted via our RSS feed and we’ll update you on the Google+ launch date for the UK.
