Google+ Project UK Nears Launch

As the UK eagerly awaits the launch of the Google+ social network, further delays seem inevitable as the project testing continues with selected partners.

One of the delays in the launch is due to the Google+ project’s impact on the real-time search facility, where instant results are displayed when search queries are typed. Google Instant currently shows immediate listings as characters are added, but including the + results is a development issue which seems to be the main factor delaying launch.

In fact, due to extensive issues with Google+ vs Google Instant, it was yesterday reported that the real-time results facility had been temporarily switched off.

Another reason for the delay (we think) is firstly the build up of interest- as with the launch of any new product, a waiting list creates demand. This is especially true where Google is concerned, the search giant commands great respect from online communities, both for personal and business useage.

Beta stage is important for the Google+ project, as this is their big shot at taking market share from Twitter and Facebook. The current limited field trial is aiming to test the usability of the 3 core Google+ elements: Sparks, Hangouts and Circles.
